Privacy Policy — Rot & Ferment

What we collect
Nothing, directly. Rot & Ferment does not have user accounts, does not ask for your name, email, location, contacts, or photos, and does not run any analytics of its own. Your cellar — money, vessels, recipes in progress, upgrades, and mother culture — is written to a save file inside the app's private storage on your device and is never sent anywhere by us.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game offers an optional "watch an ad for a bonus" moment at the sale screen. If you choose to watch one, the ad is delivered by Google AdMob (part of Google's Mobile Ads SDK). Watching an ad is always your choice — the game never shows one automatically.
To select and measure ads, Google's SDK can collect information such as your advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information, and ad interaction data, and may use this to personalize ads unless you've limited ad tracking at the OS level. This collection is performed by Google, not by us, and is governed by:
You can limit ad personalization or reset your advertising identifier at any time in your device's system settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking). A "Remove ads" purchase, when available, turns this feature off entirely.
In-app purchases
Optional purchases (extra vessel slots, a permanent income boost, time skips, removing ads) are processed entirely by the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. We do not see, collect, or store your payment details — that transaction is between you and the platform you purchased through.
Children
Rot & Ferment is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age — the app collects none to begin with. The advertising section above is the only place third-party data collection can occur, and is subject to Google's own policies linked above.
Data retention & deletion
Since we never receive your data, there's nothing on our end to retain or delete. Your local save lives only inside the app's storage on your device and is removed automatically when you uninstall the app.
Changes to this policy
If what the app collects or which third-party services it uses changes, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change accordingly.
